Introduction
Ovacity provides digital learning services, subscriptions, bookstore materials, downloads, and creator-sold educational resources.
Because many Ovacity products are digital, refund rules depend on whether access has been granted, whether a file has been downloaded, whether a subscription has been activated, and whether there is a technical or billing issue.
Subscriptions
Subscription payments give users access to selected Ovacity learning features such as past questions, quizzes, study insights, library tools, teacher tools, parent features, or other plan-based services.
Subscription fees may be non-refundable once access has been granted, except where required by law or where Ovacity decides otherwise.
Users may contact support if:
- They were charged but access was not activated.
- A duplicate payment was made.
- A payment succeeded but the account did not update.
- A wrong plan was activated due to a technical error.
- There is another billing issue requiring review.
Free Trials
Ovacity may offer a 7-day free trial. Free trials do not create refund obligations because no payment is made during the trial. Trial eligibility may be limited and duplicate trial abuse may be restricted.
Bookstore Digital Purchases
Bookstore items may include PDFs, books, study packs, revision guides, digital notes, model answer packs, and other downloadable or accessible digital learning resources.
Because these are digital items, purchases are normally final once access has been granted or the item has been downloaded.
No Refund After Download or Access
Once a purchased digital item has been downloaded, opened, accessed, or made available in My Purchases, Ovacity may not be able to offer a refund. This is because digital products cannot be returned in the same way as physical goods.
Refunds may not be approved where:
- The user downloaded the item.
- The user accessed the item.
- The item was delivered to My Purchases.
- The user changed their mind after purchase.
- The user bought the wrong item but accessed or downloaded it.
- The user shared the item or attempted to redistribute it.
When Refunds May Be Considered
Ovacity may consider a refund request where the platform records, payment records, and delivery status support the request.
Refund approval is at Ovacity's discretion, subject to review and applicable law.
- The user paid but the item was not delivered.
- The file is completely inaccessible due to a platform issue.
- The wrong item was delivered because of a system error.
- A duplicate payment was made for the same item.
- The item is materially different from its description.
- There is a verified technical issue that prevents access and Ovacity cannot resolve it within a reasonable time.
Creator-Sold Items
Some Bookstore items may be published and sold by approved creators. Refund rules apply to both Ovacity-owned and creator-sold items.
If a creator-sold item is refunded, reversed, charged back, or disputed, the related creator earnings may be reduced, reversed, or deducted from the creator's available balance, pending balance, or future payouts.
Creator Responsibility for Content
Creators are responsible for the quality, accuracy, legality, and description of the materials they publish.
If creator content is misleading, defective, infringing, illegal, or materially different from its description, Ovacity may remove the content, issue refunds where appropriate, deduct creator earnings, suspend creator selling access, or take other action.
Creator Revenue Share and Refund Impact
Ovacity takes 15% from each successful creator item sale. This 15% includes payment processing fees, including Paystack or other configured payment provider fees, and platform service fees.
If a transaction is refunded, reversed, disputed, or charged back, Ovacity may reverse the full transaction and adjust creator earnings accordingly.
Creators are not entitled to keep earnings from refunded, reversed, fraudulent, or charged-back transactions.
Withdrawal and Payout Holds
Creators can request withdrawal once their available creator balance exceeds GHS 50. Ovacity processes payouts weekly.
Ovacity may hold or delay payouts if there are pending refunds, disputes, chargebacks, suspicious sales, policy violations, or incomplete payout information.
Refund Request Process
Support email: support@ovacity.com
To request a refund review, users should contact Ovacity support with:
- Account email or username.
- Payment reference or transaction ID.
- Item purchased or plan name.
- Date of payment.
- Reason for refund request.
- Screenshot or evidence if available.
Review Period
Ovacity will review refund requests as soon as reasonably possible. Some reviews may take longer where payment providers, creators, technical checks, or dispute investigations are involved.
Payment Provider Fees
Payment provider fees may be non-refundable depending on the payment provider's rules. Where fees cannot be recovered, the refunded amount may be affected unless Ovacity decides otherwise.
Chargebacks and Abuse
Users must not abuse refunds, disputes, chargebacks, free trials, downloads, or purchases. Ovacity may restrict accounts, remove access, suspend services, or block future purchases where refund or chargeback abuse is suspected.
Final Decision
Refund decisions are made after review of platform records, access or download status, payment status, product delivery status, creator information, and any evidence provided.
